Privacy Policy

This policy explains how we process personal data when you visit browsergen.com, create an account, or use the BrowserGen service. We process personal data in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

• Account data: email address, name, password hash or passkey material, workspace membership.
• Billing data: plan, subscription state, and invoicing details processed by our payment provider Stripe. We do not store full card numbers.
• Usage data: session metadata (creation time, parameters such as timeout and exit country, end reason, pages visited count), API request logs, and dashboard activity.
• Technical data: IP address, user agent, and similar data collected when you access the site or API, used for security and rate limiting.
• Support data: messages you send us through the contact form or by email.

Content loaded or entered inside a browser session exists only for the lifetime of that session and is destroyed when the session ends. We do not inspect session content except where strictly necessary to investigate abuse or as required by law.

• Providing the service (contract performance): accounts, sessions, dashboard, support.
• Billing (contract performance, legal obligation): subscriptions, invoices, tax records.
• Security and abuse prevention (legitimate interest): logging, rate limiting, investigating violations of the Terms.
• Product analytics (legitimate interest): understanding how the site and dashboard are used, to improve them.
• Communication (contract performance, legitimate interest): transactional email such as verification, billing, and service notices.

• Session browser state: destroyed at session end, never persisted.
• Session history and usage records: 30 days.
• Account data: for the life of the account, then deleted or anonymized.
• Billing records: 10 years, as required by Swiss commercial law.
• Security logs: up to 12 months.

We share personal data only with service providers that help us run BrowserGen: infrastructure and hosting providers (data stored within the EU), Stripe for payments, an email delivery provider for transactional mail, and an EU-hosted analytics platform. Each provider processes data under contract and only on our instructions. We do not sell personal data.

Where a provider processes data outside Switzerland or the EEA (for example Stripe in the United States), the transfer is protected by recognized safeguards such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, object to processing based on legitimate interest, and request data portability where the GDPR applies. Contact [email protected]; we respond within the statutory deadlines.

You may also lodge a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or, in the EU, with your local supervisory authority.

We protect data with technical and organizational measures appropriate to the risk: encryption in transit, isolated per-session browsers that are destroyed after use, access controls and least-privilege credentials internally, and continuous monitoring. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we notify affected users and authorities of breaches as required by law.

The site uses storage that is necessary for signing in and keeping your session, plus product analytics that help us understand feature usage. Analytics data is processed in the EU. Your browser's controls let you clear or block storage; blocking necessary storage will prevent sign-in from working.

We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes are announced by email or in the dashboard before they take effect. The date at the top reflects the latest revision.
